   Proposal Description:
   Aim 1- Investigate the association between antihypertensive medication and neuropathological findings on brain autopsies in the NACC database. Hypothesis 1: Individuals treated with antihypertensives will have lower AD pathology (reflected by lower scores in Braak  Braak Neurofibrillary Staging and CERAD) and less vascular related brain injury (VBI) findings (reflected by less atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, and cerebral infarcts) when compared to individuals with untreated hypertension. Aim 2- Investigate the effects of ARBs on neuropathological findings on brain autopsies in the NACC database. Hypothesis 2.1: Individuals treated with ARBs will have lower AD pathology findings (Braak Braak and CERAD) and VBI findings (atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, and cerebral infarcts) when compared to individuals treated with other antihypertensives or individuals with untreated hypertension. Hypothesis 2.2: Individuals treated with ARBs will have lower AD pathology findings (Braak Braak and CERAD) and VBI findings (atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, and cerebral infarcts) when compared to individuals treated with ACEIs
